WLACE Early Head Start Program provides year round services to pregnant women and families of infants and toddlers either in the home or our local classroom. Both programs are offered free of charge for those who qualify. This program serves people located anywhere in Muskegon or Oceana Counties and is designed for lower income families as well as current teenage mothers, children with disabilities, and those enrolled in workforce development centers or school programs.

Teachers in the home based program visit the children's home once per week and interact with families on a variety of early childhood development topics. These can include accessing pre and post natal care, early literacy, health, nutrition, positive parent/child activities, social services and parent education. Monthly socialization meetings are held with other families with young children.

The center based portion of the program provides education and high quality care for up to 8 children. The WLACE is located in Whitehall (additional center in Orchard View area). Based on family need these centers are available 5 days per week, ten hours per day.

Early Head Start has ongoing registration and recruitment. For additional information, please contact WLACE at 231-893-0515.
