WLACE offers the adult student/alternative student an opportunity to earn an educational credential in a friendly, convenient, and relaxed setting. The success of our students is based on their ability to discipline themselves to stay on task in the classroom and to remain focused on the goal of their efforts.

Our Timberline Estates location offers GED preparation and ABE/ESL programming to students 19 years and older only.

All Graduation candidates must successfully complete a minimum of 2 semester classes (1 full credit) with WLACE, in addition to all other adult high school credit requirements.

Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Social Studies, Science, & Mathematics

GED PREPARATION & TESTING INFORMATION:

  1. The GED (General Equivalency Diploma) is the minimum educational credential accepted for entry into employment, vocational training and many colleges.
  2. The award of the GED certification is based on the average score achieved on 5 tests, given in 5 subject areas: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
  3. WLACE's GED preparation classes work to ensure testing success by exploring each of the areas tested and administering practice tests on a routine basis.
  4. Minimum testing age is 18 years (16 years with a signed age waiver form or court order).
  5. Admission to a testing session also requires prior registration, picture proof of identity and a completed demographic form. All GED testing will be conducted at the Duck Creek Learning Center.
  6. Fees include WLACE enrollment or payment of $50.00 per test taken or $250 for the 5 tests.

CREDIT RECOVERY
Concurrent (9-12) students may participate in online coursework for credit recovery through Education 2020, INC. All labs are held before and after school at our participating area high schools. A course fee and signed referral from the student's high school is required. For more information contact your high school guidance office.

TRANSPORTATION
WLACE offers transportation to all adult education students. Ask our recruitment specialists for more information.
